Club members may apply for telescope time on a Celestron C-14, which is housed in the Little Dome. The Little Dome is located southeast of Perkins on land formerly owned by OWU and now owned by Dornoch Golf Course. Ohio Wesleyan University owns the telescope. Access to the Little Dome and use of the C-14 is restricted to members who have been active in the CAS for at least six months. Applicants must undergo a checkout session at the Little Dome to become familiar with C-14 use protocols, agree to follow them, and pay a one-time key deposit of $5.00 and an annual $15.00 key fee. Proceeds are used for the maintenance of the scope and future upgrades. SIG contacts: Jeff Canter and Ted Saker.

As a Keyholder, you are considered as a steward of the C14 and thus share a responsibilty for the upkeep, security and integrity of the dome and C14. Keyholders must be regular CAS Members, in good standing for at least six months. Keyholders pay an annual fee of $15.00 and a one-time refundable deposit of $5.00. All Keyholders are obligated to follow these protocols in the use of the C14. Failure to observe strictly these protocols will result in forfeiture of access to the dome and instrument.
. The C14 is available on a first come, first served basis. The purpose of the notice requirement is for the user to make sure the scope is available. Weather, work on the dome or previously scheduled use affects availability. Keyholders must schedule dome use in advance by calling either Jeff Canter or Ted Saker and speaking with either of them, or leave a voice mail message, or by email.
Note: Repeated failure to follow this protocol will result in revocation of access privileges.
